Down the TBR Hole #9

So Down the TBR Hole took a little break, but I’m back at it again. I’ve realised I’m not going to have this sorted by 2018 but .. I can just work at it anyway.  This is book 171-196 of the TBR pile. My TBR is currently at 453 books. As always, I’m mentioning this tag was created by Lost in a Story ! Honestly with 25 books to go through these are getting long so lets just just straight into it

City of Ghosts by V.E Schwab: Um … you’re just gonna pitch a book to me as stranger things meets ghost hunters and think I won’t read it? Think again.  Verdict: it’s staying I’m keen

A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty: This books sounds quirky but the reviews are so mixed … I want to read more OzYA though so I think I’ll keep it for now Verdict: keeping

The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron: I don’t remember adding this and I don’t think I’m interested in reading it. Verdict: deleted from tbr

One Day We’ll All Be Dead and None Of This Will Matter by Scaachi Koul: I don’t usually read lots of essays and this collection doesn’t have particularly high ratings .. but I kinda feel like I SHOULD read it. Ultimately though, I don’t think I’d ever pick this up. So I may re-add later but, for now Verdict: deleting

The Yearbook Committee by Sarah Ayoub: This author Hate is Such a Strong Word, which I really liked, and so I want to read more of her stuff, but this has really mixed reviews and has been on my tbr for ages and I’ve never even thought to pick it up. So I’m not sure I’ll ever get to it.  Verdict: delete from tbr

The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka: I’ve heard so many good things about this classics, and that Franz Kafka is just great overall so I want to read it eventually. Plus I think it’s gonna be recommended reading at uni next year anyway  Verdict: keep on tbr

The Geeks Guide to Unrequited Love by Sarvenaz Tash: THE COUPLE ARE ISPIRED BY PETER PARKER AND GWEN STACEY SO LIKE ??? I HAVE TO ?? Verdict: keeping it on tbr

Three Sides of a Heart: Stories About Love Triangles by Natalie C. Parker: I would really like to read this anthology, so many of my friends loved it. Verdict: keeping it on tbr

Coffee Boy by Austin Chant:  Very excited to read this one, it’s short I should just do it soon  Verdict: keep on tbr

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson: This is one of my top tbr classics. Will definitely read in 2018  verdict: stays

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown: I don’t think I’m ever going to get to this honestly.   Verdict: delete from tbr

Jackaby by William Ritter: I think I’d still like to get to this one day. It has mixed reviews but it intrigues me, I always enjoy crime stuff Verdict: keeping on tbr

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro: I love Sherlock Holmes retellings so I’m going to get to this eventually Verdict: keeping on tbr

You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour: This is on my SapphicAThon tbr! Verdict: keeping on tbr

Summer Skin by Kirsty Eager: I was going to delete this from my tbr, but I just read some reviews and wow I want to read it bad now Verdict: remains on tbr

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson: This keeps getting recommended to me for fantasy recs so I better keep it   Verdict: it stays

Release by Patrick Ness: I own this so better keep it on the tbr  Verdict: keep on tbr

The Palace Job by Patrick Weekes: it’s a heist book, y’all know I love a good heist book  Verdict: keep on tbr

Little & Lion by Brandy Colbert: Getting a lot of recommendations for this one lately!  Verdict: keeping on tbr

Unicorn Tracks by Julia Ember: This is also on my #SapphicAThon tbr!  Verdict: keeping on tbr

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes: It just seems like a generic fantasy I could get into    Verdict: remains on tbr

Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older: I should have read this already! I have the audiobook so hopefully soon Verdict: keep on tbr

Sleeping Giants by Sylvian Neuvel: I added this to my tbr because hype, and I don’t really have any interest in reading it now Verdict: delete from tbr

Bossypants by Tina Fey: I don’t really have any interest in reading this I realse  Verdict: delete from tbr

The Iliad by Homer: It’s one of my “I must read before I die” books   Verdict: remains on tbr

Hacker, Hoaxer, Whistleblower, Spy: The Many Faces of Anonymous:  This is an ethnography about Anonymous and it’d probably be interesting, but I don’t know if I will ever actually go out and read this   Verdict: deleting from tbr

The Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor: I don’t want to have this on my tbr when I haven’t even read Strange the Dreamer yet  Verdict: delete from tbr

I deleted seven books from my tbr this time. Did I make the right decisions? I feel I was a bit lenient with some, but I always tell myself I’ll get to it *eventually*.

Until next time!

    1. I have heard so many mixed things but ultimately I always enjoy ya fantasy even the trash ones. Plus A Study in Charlotte does seem like it’d be fun … it’s just that I have so many things to read idk when I’ll get to it haha
