MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASES – Books I’m looking forward to in the second half of 2018

Hi all! So it’s been a massive year for releases already. We had I Was Born For This, Leah on the Offbeat and Circe which were some of my biggest 2018 releases. Of course, A Court of Frost and Starlight and Restore Me came out, which were both a big deal in the general bookish world. Children of Blood and Bone made massive waves, Obsidio had everyone screaming and as we speak Ship It is getting massive BookTube hype. SO IT’S BEEN A BIG YEAR ALREADY.

But there is still soo many books to come! Which is where this post comes in. I’m going to be sharing some books I’m really looking forward to, that are releasing in the second half of the year. So lets get into it! (also these aren’t in any particular order!)

Untitled-1

1: Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare (4/12/18): Probably my most anticipated release of the year. I’m sorry but I’m SO invested in this series, and her conclusions always KILL ME.  I don’t know what to think of this book, it could go in so many directions. But I’m so so excited even though it’s so far away.

2: A Reaper at The Gates by Sabaa Tahir (12/6/18): This is getting SO CLOSE I cannot handle it. I’m not ready. The Ember Quartet is one of my favourite series, I freakin loved the end of Torch Against the Night and I’m so excited to see where this series goes, because I think it’s heading in a really exciting direction!

3: What if It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera (9/10/18): NAME A MORE ICONIC DUO. These two are the perfect co-writers for a contemporary romance. I’m soexcited for this book, I’m expecting it to be heartwrenching and adorable and I have an arc of it which I’m SO KEEN to get into.

4: City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab (28/8/18): I love Victoria Schwab and so of course I’m so interested to see how her first middle grade book goes. Victoria Schwab writes awesome supernatural/fantasy book and this paranormal featuring ghosts should also be great.

5: The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee (2/10/18): The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue was one of my favourite 2017 reads. It was adorable and fun and when it came out I said I wanted a Felicity sequel .. and now we’re GETTING IT. The extracts of this book have already killed me so I’m expecting it’ll be great.

6: Running with Lions by Julian Winters (7/6/18): This book is right up my alley. A diverse cast on a soccer team, with a friends to enemies to lovers m/m romance. SIGN ME UP.

7: Wildcard by Marie Lu (18/9/18): I LOVED Warcross and so I’m so excited for the sequel. I feel like Marie Lu could take this series in so many wild and wonderful directions so I can’t wait to see what she does with it. Also, I missed the characters so much!!

8: These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch (7/8/18): UHH GAY PIRATES. NEED I SAY MORE. This sounds so excellent, since it’s fantasy and pirates and just everything I love in one.

9: Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman (11/11/18): I hardly know what this is about, but I really loved Starfish so of course I want to read this too. I’m super looking forward to it, it should be a great contemporary.

10: Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers (26/7/18): I am SO READY for this book! The Wayfarers is such a great series that I super love and I cannot wait for the finale. These books make me feel so warm and happy and I really missed this world.

These are just ten of my most anticipated releases for the rest of 2018! These are so many more! This year has just been AMAZING for releases, it’s kind of overwhelming because I haven’t even finished reading the releases from the first half of this year, whoops.

What books are you guys looking forward to for the rest of the year?

until next time!
