Today I’m here to announce Round Two of SapphicAThon!

If you haven’t heard of SapphicAThon, here’s quick rundown. This is a readathon dedicated to reading books with sapphic main characters (eg, bi, lesbian, pan, queer ect girls). Last round we focussed on reading f/f books but this round we are expanding this to any book as long as the MAIN character is sapphic.

Here’s the essential information:

  • SapphicAThon is hosted by Me, Natasha and  Elise
  • SapphicAThon round two will run from FEB 1-7 IN YOUR TIMELINE
  • The official twitter is @SapphicAThon. Go here to participate in sprints/chat with hosts and other participants and keep updated. Use #SapphicAThon to add to the conversation.
  • Anyone is free to participate!
  • The only challenge is to read sapphic books, but if you want to participate with actual set challenges then those are below (+ my TBR)

Any questions can be directed to me, Elise or Natasha through our blogs or through twitter. If any further information needs to be announced we will do that through the twitter so make sure you follow that! Here’s the official rules + challenges on a handy little graphic.

With this all said, lets get into my TBR

Read the Group Book    Fairly self explanatory, I will definitely be reading the group book Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole. I haven’t read a book by Alyssa Cole yet but I’ve wanted to so I’m very excited.

Read a book with a trope you love    Some of my favourite tropes are “the chosen one”, “best friends to lovers”, “rivals to lovers” and “slowburn romance”. I decided to go with slowburn romance and read something everyone has been recommending to me since forever – Everything Leads To You by Nina LaCour. I NEED to read this, so this is the perfect time.

MC is a person of colour    The group book fits for this one, but I am going to try and read Not Your Sidekick by C.B Lee. This has been on my TBR since 2016 and I just haven’t got to it yet! But I love superhero stories so it’s TIME.

cover love    This is an easy choice – We Are Okay by Nina LaCour. This has one of my favourite covers of ALL TIME and like I said, I want to read LaCours backlist so why not do them all for SapphicAThon?

favourite prompt from the last sapphicathon    My three favourite prompts were probably under 500 ratings, f/f in science fiction or fantasy, and bisexual mc. I decided to choose a book that combines all three, Outrun the Wind by Elizabeth Tammi! This is a greek mythology inspired fantasy with an f/f romance !

read a book where romance isn’t the focus    I’m pretty sure romance isn’t the main focus in Winterglass by Benjanun Sriduangkaew! I know it is about a woman attempting to reclaim her stolen homeland but it also has an f/f romance on the side. This is a book I’ve had on my TBR for a long time so I’m excited to read it.

read a book one of the hosts has read    I’m choosing How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake for this one. This is one of Natasha’s favourite books and one I’ve been meaning to read for a long time. It also is best friends to lovers which I love! So excited to finally finally read this.

That is everything for today! I am so excited to help host SapphicAThon again and hope everyone can participate this round. I look forward to talking to you all on Twitter!

until next time

  1. Great. I’m going to try and read The Abyss Surrounds Us and Down Among the Sticks and Bones. Both are short so I should be able to get to them easily. I’ve heard great things about We Are Okay. Good luck! 🙂
