Another Tuesday another TBR sorting session. This is book 146-171 of the TBR pile. My TBR is currently at 461 books. As always, I’m mentioning this tag was created by Lost in a Story ! Honestly with 25 books to go through these are getting long so lets just just straight into it
We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo: Honestly this is probably really good but I don’t think I’ll eve get to it. It’s just so not in my head as something I need to read. Verdict: it’s getting removed
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: Why haven’t I read this already? Verdict: keeping on tbr
Treasure by Rebekah Weatherspoon: This is on my SapphicAThon TBR so hopefully will be read soon Verdict: keep
And the Hippos Were Boiled in Their Tanks by William S. Burroughs: This was suggested reading for Lit but I don’t think I’ll read it Verdict: delete from tbr
Vanity of Duluoz: An Adventurous Education by Jack Kerouac: Same situation as above Verdict: delete from tbr
Wild Beauty by Anna Marie McLemore: Definitely want to read this, hopefully sooner rather then later Verdict: keeping it on tbr
The Odyssey by Homer: One day I swear to god I will read this. Verdict: keeping it on tbr
The Prophecy of Shadows by Michelle Madow: I added this because I randomly got it for free but I don’t think I’ll read it. Verdict: deleted from tbr
The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour: This has been on my tbr for a while, but ultimately I still think I’d like to read it eventually verdict: stays
A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess: I want to read this once the whole series has come out. Seems like a fun fantasy series to binge Verdict: keep on tbr
A Murder in Time by Julie McElwain: This has a really cool premise (FBI agent goes back in time to solve serial killings) but I don’t like the quotes that have been put up by reviewers and the writing style doesn’t seem like my thing. Too bad because the cover is really nice. Verdict: removing from tbr
The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi: This sounds like it’s good, and it has okay reviews, but ultimately it just doesn’t feel like anything I’d ever bother to pick up myself. Not my thing. Verdict: removing from tbr
Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak: I love Markus Zusak but this book is slated for 2021 and ummm … I might add this back on a little closer to the year Verdict: deleting from tbr
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt: I’m determined to read Donna Tartt’s books since I love The Secret History Verdict: remains on tbr
The Jane Austen Project by Kathleen A. Flynn: This honestly has such a cool premise (students go back in time to steal from Jane Austen and diagnose her illness) and it just sounds so fun I want to read it. Verdict: it stays
Into the Dim by Taylor B. Janet: Urggh like so I read some reviews of this and Yikes TM I don’t think I would enjoy the process of reading this Verdict: delete from tbr
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon: I’m hoping I’ll still get to this one of these days Verdict: keep on tbr
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens: I watched the mini series for this and I really liked it I want to read this one day even though it’s probably a drag Verdict: keeping on tbr
Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts: I know this book has bad reviews but it has my literal favourite trope that I’m trash for (misfits band together) and so I dont care I want to read it. Verdict: keeping on tbr
We Are Okay by Nina LaCour: I’m soo excited to read this one of these days Verdict: remains on tbr
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley: This is one of the classics I definitely would like to read Verdict: keep on tbr
Yassmins Story by Yassmin Abdel-Magied: I think Yassmin is great I really want to read this eventually Verdict: keep on tbr
Under the Lights by Dahlia Adler: It’s on the #SapphicAThon tbr! Verdict: keep on tbr
Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova: Also on the #SapphicAThon tbr Verdict: remains on tbr
Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay: Ah I went off this author because of her recent twitter comments Verdict: deleting from tbr
Gap Year in Ghost Town by Michael Pryor: I own this one and I’m super excited about reading it. Verdict: keep on tbr
I deleted nine books from my tbr, about the same as usual. It’s now sitting at 453 books. Urgh slowly getting lower and lower. It’d be awesome if I could get it below 400 but I don’t think thats ever gonna happen haha.
Anyway another session down, see you in a few days for the next Down the TBR Hole!
